I was lead designer at SPUD.ca for almost 3 years.
I worked with a great team to refresh the SPUD brand to create a cohesive, modern brand that was still friendly to our existing clients.
My first real success was taking the photos from isolated stock to adorable lifestyle. I also began to brighten up the brand with a focus on bold colours, clean fonts, and feature photos everywhere!
Along with the new photos I created a new illustration language, as well as art directing on a new digital plan.
Ad revenue began to rise as we focused on concise copy and bright colours and images. I also collaborated with the digital marketing team to finesse the emails, and landing pages.
This refresh was a team project, including designers, email specialists, UX designers, and photographers- but as lead designer I was able to define many aspects of the brand that continue on today.
